Our last shoot for Issue 1-10 was taken place in Paris where Carl Craig was going on the next step of his orchestra project. It is in a way commanding to hear how real musician work out their instruments (in a exprimental way).
And an interview wih Carl is anyway always interesting and entertaining. As he think further and altercate about the stuff going on.

SLICES ISSUE 1-10. LITTLE DRAGON
Göteburg – January, 27 – 2010
Station No. 8. on the plan brought us to Göteburg/Sweden for meeting Little Dragon. Never heard of them? Then check out the 2 Albums that they already released on Peacefrog. Both albums are definitly Electronica-Pop pearls. Recommended!
We were one day spending in their studio where they also performed some of their new songs for us. Musically they convienced us fast but furthermore the 4 won our sympathy. Thumbs up!

SLICES ISSUE 1-10. TOBI NEUMANN
Berlin – January, 26 – 2010
In the last years more known as a DJ, Tobi Neumann is actually also an excellent producer with a perfect furnished Studio.
For sure you can say that hardware is more under his focus. And he has a lot to say when it comes to producing.

SLICES ISSUE 1-10. KIRK DEGIORGIO
Berlin – January, 22 – 2010
The name Kirk Degiorgio is for sure known since starting of 90´s between the Fancier of Uk scene.
As One, Past/Future are just two projects of him with which he released some excellent tracks.
On one of his rare german gigs we took the chance and invited him to an interview in our office and enjoyed his Live performance later at Maria Club in Berlin.

Frankfurt – January, 21 – 2010
Day 2 of the Frankfurt journey brought us to Cocoon HQ to make interviews with the labelmanager Pauli Steinbach and his fugleman Edgar Dircksen.

SLICES ISSUE 1-10. MARKUS NIKOLAI
Frankfurt – January, 20 – 2010
On the 20th of january we went for a visit to Frankfurt.
Our first station there was the optics shop of Markus Nikolai in the Brönner Street.
It is an elegant and nice shop where he has some interesting optics equipment.
We had a introdcution of his world being a optician and catch some nice footage.
So when ever you feet cross the city it is our insider tip for people looking for exceptional glasses to check this shop out.
SLICES ISSUE 1-10. NEW WORLD AQUARIUM
Berlin – January, 16 – 2010
After trying several times without success to organise a shoot in the mysterious Spreepark which is situated in Berlin`s Plänterwald we made it today to shoot there.
And the chosen artist for that location was Jochem Peteri a.k.a. New World Aquarium who came over with the train from Amsterdam.
This shoot was like the other shoots till now outdoor so that we can not complain about a lack of snow or not having enough cold. 
But what don´t we do for a good shoot and we have to say that the location is worse it and left permament impressions. But we don´t want to say too much now.
SLICES ISSUE 1-10. SIRIUSMO
Berlin – January, 14 – 2010
Today on our shooting plan was Siriusmo.
Maybe he is known by some people through his releases on Exploited, Monkeytown and Boysnoize.
For the shoot today we met him in a typical Berlin backyard where he convienced us about his high quality of being a ’sprayer’.
As the good dude does not just make bombastic tracks he is also a well known credible Sprayer and painter.

SLICES ISSUE 1-10. RICHARD DAVIS
Berlin – January, 13 – 2010
Today we had the first Slices shot of the year and it was pretty freezing outside….brrrrrrr.
But it was helping that we had Richard Davis with us.
His warm charme and his idea to put some phrases of his lyrics on posters was quite fun in the snow.
After the outside shots we went home with him for the interview.
His girlfriend Astrid welcome us with tea and showed us some of her impressive paintings while Richard played some of his new songs for us. And we can truly say that it´s worth to wait for his intend new album and also to check out Astrid´s work.

SLICES ISSUE 4-09. DJ SNEAK

Catching up DJ Sneak in europe get more likey again. Good for us that Weekend club made a special night with him.
He combined that with a visit at Jay Haze´s studio…one of his buddys over Berlin. We met him for his second big passion cooking. And were quite curious what we would have on the table. After we can say having a reaaal
„Puerto Rican“ food prepared from Sneak is a delicious thing. Yam Yam!
In Weekend Club then he blew it all away…What a great House sound!
Good Job Sneak…get the vibe of Sneak´s DJ gig and the smell of the food over the screen on the next Slices Issue 4-09!

SLICES ISSUE 4-09. AUX88
Berlin – October 23, 2009
Goin Undaground was the motto of the day. The location was phenomenal for the Mad Scientists. This is the new project of Aux 88 from Detroit.
We were in the basement of an old city indoor pool in Berlin-Wedding which is reused for art projects sometimes. Its a really great and kind of spooky location! Check their website: www.stattbad.net
Aux 88 assure with sympathy and being exceptional gentle guys. It went even more expectional when we heard their interest on Sci-Fi and Future and how that effects their sound which they give the name „Techno-Bass“.

Question of the day…Who made Who?
Over Kopenhagen Tomas Barfod, Jeppe Kjellberg and Tomas Hoffding can answer the best to that. We met the band to have a promenade at the cosy coast of the nordic sea of denmark.
What a great view with a sun smiling all day at us. Lucky we are with the weather these days also in Kopenhagen all day sunshine.
The Whomadewho Boys told funny tales out of school. Some about vodka and some about memorable live moments. After a good danish meal in the „Lil pharmacie“ we went to their studio. See it all on the next slices Issue 4-09

SLICES ISSUE 4-09. SMALLVILLE
Hamburg – October 14, 2009
Today we had a rendezvous with the guys of Smallville label in their recordshop. We were hosted very friendly with tea and had a nice chat. Perfect to start into another lovely day in Hamburg. We got the feeling that this guys live and share their passion with all their music friends. Good to see that this kind of networking places still find existence! Another good reason to SAVE VINYL!
After a few mates joined us we went on to go really DEEP… through the Elbtunnel. Props to Hamburg and big thanks for a nice stay!
